Lost in the Sahara for Nine Days During the Marathon des Sables | TripMag Stories

On the fourth day of the 1994 Marathon des Sables, a 39-year-old Italian policeman ran into a Saharan sandstorm and was lost for nine days. He survived by drinking his own urine and the blood of bats. He was found in Algeria, 300 kilometres off the race course.
